Head of Accounting (Manufacturing) Brooklyn, NY (Fully On-site) $150K Position Overview A growing manufacturing-related company is seeking a strong Head of Accounting to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage a small AP team, and support accurate financial reporting across the organization. This role reports directly to the CFO and offers strong long-term growth potential toward a Controller position. The company is seeking a hands-on accounting professional who is eager to grow, take ownership, and expand their leadership responsibilities over time. This opportunity is ideal for a strong Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant ready to step into a more strategic and leadership-focused role. The Ideal Candidate Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial reporting Experience working across multiple accounting systems/platforms Adaptable and comfortable learning new systems and processes Understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting principles Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and oversee others’ work Looking for long-term growth into a Controller-level role Organized, dependable, and able to thrive in a fully onsite environment Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting Report directly to the CFO and assist with higher-level accounting initiatives Review and supervise the work of two Accounts Payable team members Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Analyze financial statements, including manufacturing-related income statements Support cost accounting functions and inventory-related accounting processes Ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls Work across multiple accounting systems and help improve processes where needed Qualifications & Must-Haves BA in Accounting required Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or strong Senior Accountant Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger accounting Experience within manufacturing or product-based environments preferred Cost accounting knowledge required Leadership potential and desire for long-term growth Ability to work fully onsite Schedule & Benefits Fully onsite Closed for Yomim Tovim Two weeks PTO Health insurance, dental, FSA, and 401(k) offered (no match) Apply Now: Email your resume to nechi@maiplacement.com
