Vendor Relationship Manager
Job Title: Vendor Relationship Manager (Buyer) Department: Purchasing / Supply Chain Reports To: Supply Chain Manager or Director of Procurement Position Summary The Vendor Relationship Manager is responsible for managing relationships with appliance manufacturers, component suppliers, and distribution partners. This role ensures a reliable supply of products and parts, competitive pricing, and high standards of quality. The position involves strategic sourcing, negotiation, and ongoing vendor performance management to support the company’s operational and sales goals. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day relationships with assigned appliance and component vendors. Source new suppliers for appliances, parts, and accessories that meet quality and cost standards. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service-level agreements. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate orders to maintain optimal stock without overbuying. Evaluate vendor performance, quality, lead times, and reliability; implement corrective actions when needed. Stay current on market trends, new product introductions, and technology developments in the appliance industry. Collaborate with the sales, marketing, logistics, and finance teams to forecast demand and align purchasing plans. Resolve issues related to defective products, deliveries, or vendor disputes in a timely manner. Maintain accurate documentation of supplier contracts, pricing records, and purchasing transactions. Contribute to cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and supply chain optimization. Qualifications Experience in purchasing, procurement, or vendor management—ideally within the appliance industry. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Performance Metrics Vendor reliability and on-time delivery rate.
