VP - Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations
The VP of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations will develop and execute the strategy for sourcing, manufacturing, and distribution across North America, supporting both regional consumption and global demand. This leader will define long-term make-vs-buy decisions, required manufacturing capabilities, assembly levels, and strategic competencies the company should retain or develop. They will drive competitive advantages in cost, product performance, service, and working capital, while optimizing capital budgets and annual productivity. This role leads the vision for Supply Excellence, fostering a culture of cost efficiency, quality, service performance, safety, and continuous improvement. The VP will build and develop strong operational teams, implement lean and six-sigma methodologies, and ensure compliance with medical device GMP and regulatory standards. Responsibilities: Lead make/buy strategy and determine optimal sources of supply. Define long-term manufacturing and sourcing capabilities to retain vs. outsource. Execute a manufacturing strategy that removes redundancies and establishes reliable centers of excellence. Improve system-wide operations routines to boost service levels, reduce waste, and drive manufacturing excellence. Oversee strategic sourcing to optimize supplier cost, quality, and performance. Build a competitive distribution and logistics strategy across wholesale, retail, e-commerce, and end-user channels. Drive operational excellence through disciplined, data-driven processes and continuous improvement programs. Oversee manufacturing engineering and establish a lean, efficient Americas manufacturing network. Own the sales/inventory/operations planning process and leverage new IT systems to improve cost, fulfillment, and inventory. Improve customer experience by simplifying order fulfillment in partnership with product development, customer service, and IT. Create and manage budgets for headcount, COGS, and delivery performance. Champion continuous improvement and manage capital and expense budgets. Collaborate with business leaders to ensure reliable supply and support new product launches. Evaluate contract manufacturers and acquisition targets through operational due diligence. Serve on the North America Executive Leadership Team and partner closely with other functions. Lead a diverse, inclusive team focused on talent development and strong workforce relations. Promote a culture of disciplined execution, safety, environmental responsibility, and compliance. Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and readiness to take on evolving priorities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; MBA preferred. 15+ years of operations leadership, including 10+ years as a plant manager with multi-site responsibility. Experience in high-performance, continuous-improvement manufacturing environments with strong service, inventory, and EHS results. Background in medical device, automotive, aerospace, or similar regulated industries. Deep expertise in manufacturing management, supply chain, OpEx, and quality systems. Proven leadership in hiring, developing, and motivating top talent. Strong ability to translate business strategy into operational execution and build collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Strategic thinker with a track record of innovative operational solutions. Advanced knowledge of lean systems and transformational program leadership. Ability to travel up to 20% across North America. Location: McAllen TX Salary: $250K
