Part-Time Medical Billing Advisor Location: Remote or in office (Williamsburg) Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible Hours) Company: Medical Billing Company (ABA, Mental Health & Urgent Care) Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Advisor to support our in-office billing team. This is a part-time, remote role for a highly knowledgeable billing professional who can serve as a resource when complex issues arise. The ideal candidate has deep experience in ABA therapy, mental health, and/or urgent care billing and understands payer requirements, denials management, and compliance across these specialties. Responsibilities Provide expert guidance to in-office medical billers on complex claims and billing scenarios Assist with resolving denials, rejections, and underpayments Advise on payer-specific requirements (commercial and government plans) Support prior authorization and eligibility challenges Ensure compliance with billing regulations and industry best practices Help improve internal billing processes and workflows Serve as a go-to resource for escalated billing issues Qualifications Extensive hands-on medical billing experience (5+ years preferred) Strong background in ABA, mental health, and/or urgent care billing Deep understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and payer guidelines Experience handling denials, appeals, and complex reimbursement issues Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote advisory capacity Ideal Candidate Senior-level billing professional Detail-oriented and solutions-driven Comfortable mentoring and guiding other billers Looking for a flexible, part-time role
