JOB SUMMARY: Responsible, for escorting and assisting patients within the
center, for assisting the physicians in the exam rooms, setting
up and maintaining the exam rooms with supplies and
equipments in a readiness state for patients visit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the
waiting area to the exam room.
2. Takes vital signs, height and weight, and properly documents it in the chart.
3. Maintains the exam room between patient use to ensure readiness for the
next patient and physician.
4. Prepares and cleans and maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to
determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; and ensuring that
all equipment is properly maintained.
5. Draws blood, performs EKGs, assists with collection of specimens and
processes them in Ezra Medical s Laboratory as needed; provides other
patient care services as directed by provider within scope of practice.
6. Assists with answering telephone calls, taking the appropriate measures, or if
needed, delegating it to a nurse or provider.
7. Assists with scheduling tests and treatments, pre-certifying patients for
procedures and processing referrals to other providers as needed.
8. Processing prior authorizations for medications, assisting the providers with
Prescription Monitoring Program for patients on controlled substances.
9. Assists with recalls to patients reminding them of the need to schedule well
visits, or for follow-up appointments.
10. Performs other related work as required.
11. The Medical Assistant must be compliant and cooperate fully with the compliance program, including its standards of conduct and
policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as
part of the Medical Assistant s regular performance evaluation. Failure to
comply with the written standards, which includes the failure to report
any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance
requirements, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to
and including possible termination in accordance with the compliance
program.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Required to have one of the following:
MA/technician Certificate, High School Diploma, College diploma, or 1 year
experience.
2. Verbal Communication
Hours: Sundays 8-6 M-TH 8am-9pm at least 2x week until 9pm
