Controller – Healthcare Operations Lakewood, NJ | Onsite $130 – 160K (DOE Position Overview A fast-growing, multi-state ABA company is seeking a hands-on Controller / Head of Finance Operations to bring all bookkeeping and accounting functions fully in-house and stabilize day-to-day financial operations. This is a highly operational role for someone who thrives in the details, takes ownership, and can build structure where it doesn’t yet exist. This role is critical to creating financial clarity and discipline during a growth phase. For at least the first 6 months, this individual will personally execute bookkeeping and core accounting work while establishing scalable systems and controls. The Ideal Candidate Roll-up-your-sleeves finance professional Comfortable owning bookkeeping and accounting end-to-end Highly organized, accountable, and execution-focused Calm in fast-moving, evolving environments Process-builder who enjoys bringing order and structure Confident working directly with ownership Key Responsibilities Hands-On Financial Operations Personally bring bookkeeping and accounting in-house from outsourced providers Manage day-to-day accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close Ensure accuracy, continuity, and clean financial records Establish internal controls, workflows, and documentation Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger integrity Operational Finance & Reporting Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses Support budgeting and forecasting processes Track cost per client, clinic-level profitability, and margins Partner with leadership on operational financial questions Hold vendors and processes accountable Foundation Building Create repeatable systems to support scale Assist in building and training future finance team members Serve as the operational finance backbone of the organization Qualifications & Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable) Willingness to personally handle bookkeeping during the first 6 months Strong hands-on accounting background Experience bringing structure to growing organizations High attention to detail with strong follow-through Comfortable working onsite and closely with leadership Nice to Have Healthcare, ABA, or multi-location services experience Experience working with outsourced accountants/bookkeepers Interest in growing into broader finance leadership Email resume to: nechi@maiplacement.com
