Medical Billing & Workflow Specialist
Our client, a medical service provider, is seeking a Medical Billing & Workflow Optimization Specialist to improve revenue cycle performance by redesigning workflows and implementing automation through software and AI. you will identify the highest-impact revenue cycle bottlenecks (80/20), convert them into practical solutions, and drive implementation through completion. Responsibilities Identify revenue cycle breakdowns across billing, denials, posting, and payer workflows; prioritize the highest-impact fixes (80/20). Lead planning and implementation of process changes across onshore and offshore billing teams and internal stakeholders. Partner with internal software developers, data analysts, and AI developers to implement automation that reduces manual work and increases collections. Act as the execution hub between Revenue Cycle, Finance, and technical teams; remove bottlenecks and keep initiatives moving. Work with payers to resolve recurring billing issues and support renegotiation of select payer contracts. Oversee enrollment and credentialing execution to ensure payer participation and payment continuity. Partner with Finance and Billing to ensure EFTs, ERAs, and payment operations run smoothly. Requirements: 5+ years in medical billing / revenue cycle operations (non-hospital preferred). Proven track record implementing operational change with real billing teams (not just analysis). Strong working knowledge of claims lifecycle, denials, appeals, posting, EFT/ERA, and payer rules. Strong execution and stakeholder management; ability to push initiatives through bottlenecks. Advanced Excel; comfortable working with data and translating needs into developer-ready requirements. Location: Brooklyn NY Salary: $120K
