Senior Accountant
Our client, a manufacturing organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with expertise in financial reporting, cost accounting, and cross-functional financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting manufacturing cost analysis, maintaining compliance with U.S. GAAP, and driving process improvements while partnering with internal teams to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness • Manage journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions to maintain integrity of financial records • Lead and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes in accordance with strict reporting deadlines • Collaborate with accounting teams to complete corporate and divisional close activities while ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP standards • Analyze manufacturing financial performance, including cost structures, margins, and operational spending trends • Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan processes through detailed financial modeling and variance analysis • Reconcile manufacturing, inventory, and general ledger systems to ensure alignment and accuracy across financial platforms • Assist with audits, tax compliance, and internal control enhancements while contributing to system and process improvements Qualifications: • Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and standard cost accounting with hands-on experience in manufacturing finance • Proficiency in ERP systems with preferred experience in SAP, demonstrating the ability to manage complex financial data and reporting workflows • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis, along with working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle close processes with precision, meeting tight deadlines in fast-paced environments • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven track record of interpreting financial data to support business decisions • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience partnering cross-functionally across finance, operations, and leadership teams • Detail-oriented and highly organized professional with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance Location: Elyria, OH Salary: $90K
