Experienced Buyer
Our client, a leading ecommerce company, is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage and oversee all purchasing activities. This role is responsible for sourcing and developing new domestic and international suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors. The Buyer will closely monitor materials and inventory levels, collaborate cross-functionally to resolve product and process issues, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the purchasing lifecycle. Responsibilities: Purchase high-quality merchandise at competitive prices and in appropriate volumes. Research and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, selection, service, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and overall reputation. Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers and vendors. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, quotes, and availability for identified products and materials. Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. Review purchase orders and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies. Manage out-of-stock items and ensure clear communication across relevant departments. Work closely with forecasting, sales, accounting, and warehouse teams. Proactively secure vendor rebates, marketing funds, growth incentives, and similar opportunities. Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and investigate delays or discrepancies as needed. Record goods ordered and received and assist with accounts payable reconciliation. Prepare reports and correspondence as required. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Buyer role. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key data and trends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Superior organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. Proven ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently. Ability to gather, analyze, and present information clearly. Confidence to communicate assertively and professionally in all situations. Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions. Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively. Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Experience negotiating with suppliers and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Location: New York, NY Salary: $120K
