Outside Sales Representative - 3PL Logistics
Our client, a national 3PL company is seeking a driven and experienced Outside Sales Representative to grow their 3PL logistics business through new client acquisition and relationship development. This role focuses on selling customized logistics solutions including warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, and value-added services. The ideal candidate understands logistics operations and can confidently engage decision-makers to deliver solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs. This is a field-based role requiring strong prospecting skills, consultative selling, and the ability to manage a full sales cycle. Responsibilities: Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories or target markets. Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with prospective clients to understand supply chain and logistics needs. Present tailored 3PL solutions including warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, and transportation services. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation and close. Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers including operations leaders, procurement, and executive teams. Work closely with operations and internal teams to ensure accurate proposals and seamless client onboarding. Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently meet or exceed revenue targets. Track and update sales activity, pipeline status, and forecasts in the CRM system. Stay informed on logistics trends, market conditions, and competitive offerings. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities. Provide market feedback to leadership to support pricing, service offerings, and growth strategy. Qualifications: Previous experience in outside sales, business development, or account management, preferably in logistics or 3PL. Strong understanding of logistics services such as warehousing, fulfillment, freight, and supply chain operations. Proven ability to prospect, negotiate, and close new business. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment. Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously. Comfortable using CRM systems and sales reporting tools. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally as required. Preferred Qualifications Existing book of business or industry relationships. Experience selling B2B services in a consultative sales environment. Familiarity with ecommerce fulfillment or retail distribution. Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales quotas. Location: Company is located Edison NJ, Position is Hybrid, on the road and in-person Salary: Competitive base salary plus commission structure.
