Junior Accountant (Healthcare) Location: Valley Stream Full-Time-In Office Salary: $75k+ DOE Position Overview We are seeking a Junior Accountant to support the accounting function within a healthcare environment. This role reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. Key Responsibilities Assist with maintaining accurate financial records, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Support general ledger maintenance and review account activity Perform bank reconciliations and assist with balancing accounts Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements Support preparation of GAAP-compliant financial reports Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes Help maintain and update the accounting system (ERP) Prepare supporting documentation for audits and tax filings Qualifications 1–2 years of accounting experience (healthcare experience preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or currently in final stages of completion Strong understanding of basic accounting principles Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables preferred)
