Director of Finance
Position Overview
A growing Human Capital Management (HCM) organization is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial operations and help drive the next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on strengthening financial infrastructure, improving profitability visibility, enhancing operational controls, and building scalable processes that support a rapidly evolving business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader who combines strong accounting and financial expertise with an operational mindset.
Responsibilities
Lead all accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions
Develop and enhance financial processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
Create executive dashboards and financial reports to analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, and key business metrics
Monitor financial performance and identify trends, variances, risks, and improvement opportunities
Oversee compliance-related financial functions, reporting accuracy, and risk management initiatives
Drive automation, systems enhancements, and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
Partner with executive leadership to improve decision-making, operational performance, and organizational growth
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
Experience as a Director of Finance, Controller, Finance Manager, VP of Finance, Head of Finance, or similar leadership role
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls
Experience building processes, improving operations, and driving organizational performance
Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and influence cross-functional stakeholders
CPA, MBA, or other advanced finance/accounting credentials preferred but not required
Experience in payroll, human capital management (HCM), SaaS, professional services, or related industries is a plus
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
Highly organized with exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Compensation & Benefits
$175,000 - $225,000+ (based on experience)
