Senior Accountant Brooklyn, NY | Full-Time | Onsite $120 – $140K Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Position Overview A growing multi-entity organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. This is a hands-on, technical role responsible for core accounting and financial reporting across multiple companies, with a strong focus on payroll accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. The Ideal Candidate Strong technical accountant with solid general accounting knowledge Analytical and comfortable digging into financial data Highly organized and able to manage deadlines across multiple companies Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Able to work independently while collaborating with the broader accounting team Key Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity Perform account and balance sheet reconciliations Manage payroll accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and related reconciliations Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Analyze financial results, variances, and discrepancies Manage intercompany accounting across multiple entities Assist with revenue and accounts receivable accounting Support audits, internal controls, and accounting process improvements Qualifications & Must-Haves Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Hands-on payroll accounting experience required Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis Experience working with general ledger/accounting systems Multi-entity or multi-company accounting experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP Apply Now: Email resumes to: nechi@maiplacement.com
